January 2020 – Invoke Tax Partners has acquired Ad Valorem Tax, Inc. (AVTI), a national property tax consulting firm. Since their foundation in 1986, AVTI has represented a distinguished client base throughout the United States, ranging from small private firms to some of the largest and most dynamic corporations in the Fortune 100.
“The acquisition of AVTI further enhances our coverage, expertise, and growth opportunities in not only property tax, but in our entire suite of state and local tax services,” said Matt Fossey, CEO of Invoke Tax Partners. “The synergistic benefits that come with seamlessly integrating a practice that has operated coast-to-coast together for more than 30 years will further enhance our position as a national fixture in this space.”
AVTI’s especially strong market presence in the Midwest, Northeast, and California perfectly aligns with Invoke’s coverage and clientele.
“It is a great feeling to bolster our in-depth local expertise across all geographies by joining forces with Invoke’s exceptional property tax team,” said Mike Clark, Director of West Coast Real Estate at Invoke Tax Partners and former AVTI Principal. “It was incredibly important to us to find a home that would take care of our stellar clients and dedicated employees as their own. We are thrilled we’ve found that here at Invoke.”
The smooth onboarding of clients, talent, and systems has proven the shared philosophies of both Invoke and AVTI. Putting internal and external relationships at the forefront of operations has been the driving force behind both firms.
“We have been approached numerous times in the past to sell AVTI, but the fit was never quite right,” said John Vanderah, Director of East Coast Property Tax at Invoke Tax Partners and former AVTI Principal. “Invoke’s commitment to clients and vision to build a best-in-class firm left an undeniable impression. The decision to join forces was easy and we couldn’t be more excited for the future.”
