January 2021 – Invoke Tax Partners is pleased to welcome Larry Backus to the firm as Director of Multifamily based in our Dallas, Texas office. Highly regarded as one of the premier multifamily property tax valuation experts in the industry, in his role Larry will continue and accelerate the excellent service and growth of Invoke’s multifamily portfolio of assets and utilize his decades of experience to serve as an ideal mentor for junior consultants.

After beginning his career in the public sector as the Deputy Chief Appraiser at a Metro Central Appraisal District of North Texas, Larry transitioned to consulting in the private sector. Over the course of his career at regional boutique and national property tax consulting firms, Larry has represented multifamily assets throughout the country for REITS, pension funds, private equity entities and family offices. From trophy assets, value add opportunities, and student housing, Larry’s wealth of industry knowledge combined with his aggressive appeal approach drives the results his clients rely upon.
